Toxic Disc-Charge doesn't beat the Big Red Rockets in a close one!
Griff writes "In a game that was never seperated by more than three points, the Big Red Rockets triumphed on universe point to live another week.
Alex Rynolds put in the second greatest single game performance this author has ever seen. His throws were money, he skied people, he had several layout D's, and to my knowledge, zero turnovers. Pat Paterson's return from an ankle injury also gave Toxic a boost. With his flick, they were finally able to send some of their abundant speed deep. Everyone got in on the action like it was Futo's mom! Griff to Britt, Pat to Britt, Pat to Allen, Pat to Emily, Pat to Griff, possibly even Pat to himself!
Despite the great performance by the Toxic Disc-Charge, the Big Red Rockets would not be beat! Everytime someone beat the Big Red Rockets deep, they countered with a patient approach, led by the handling of Kebo, Phil and Molly. Despite a tight Toxic zone, they were able to work the disc down the field with countless passes and find a way into the endzone.
After a Toxic win seemed inevitable after a dominant second half giving them a 12-10 lead, Red rallied. After several closely fought points the score was knotted up at 12s. It was do or die time, win or go home, one point to live another day. Toxic worked the disc down the field but a hard Big Red Rocket D forced a turnover. Kebo immediately capatalized by throwing a beautiful flick to Phil, who perfectly timed his leap snag the point, game, and extra week.
Both teams displayed great spirit and it was truly an enjoyable game to be a part of."

Big Red Rockets of Fire...unstoppable?
Kebo writes "As Kebo's car pulled up to the League fields on thursday night a small cheer broke out among the Red Rockets team...until Kebo emerged alone.
"Where's Molly?", everyone asked.
"She can't make it tonight, but don't worry...I'm here!", Kebo replied.
"#@$*".
After that little exercise in ego-boosting, red prepared to play against the very strong black team. USDA was known for being very cerebral...deliberate, a thinking-man's team. They would patiently wear down their opponents until a mistake was made, then Prime Time would strike. This did not bode well for the very trigger-happy, gun-slinger, 'shoot first, ask questions later' style of play exhibited by the Big Red Rockets of Fire.
On this night, however, the tables were turned. Acting as though their water bottles had been laced with Nyquil, Red came out decidedly un-fired up, almost sleepy in their approach...and it paid off.
USDA threw a zone for most of the game, and the patience of the Red team was successful. Showing an increasing willingness to dump, swing, and gradually move the disc down the field, they capitalized early on some Black over-enthusiasm, going up 5-2.
Then, the Rocket's worst nightmares became reality...they started to get excited about the game! They began running, and trying to throw far and exhibiting a passion which turned the momentum of the game towards the now-chilly Black team. 5-3, 5-4...USDA battled back, eventually tying the game at 6's...and taking half 7-6.
Desperate, the Red team needed some sort of inspiration to calm their team down and return to their sedated state from the beginning of the game. How to do it? They struggled for answers. Kebo stepped to the plate with the perfect solution...a long winded pep talk aimed at building intensity. It failed brilliantly...red was ready to half-heartedly cheer and walk slowly to the line to begin the second half.
Their patience restored, the Big Red Rockets of Fire were back on track for the long slow march towards victory.
They gradually regained control of the game and with superb handling and team work...with many points having everyone on the field getting touches on the disc, Red eventually walked over the zone D and won the game.
MVP for Red was Erin! Who's nonchalant handling, coupled with some great grabs, led the team to victory."

Big Red Rockets of Fire are...ON FIRE!
Kebo writes "The early game on Thursday night started innocently enough. People chatting idly, throwing discs to and fro..enjoying a nice sunny day, with a little bit of wind. Both the red and white team showed up in numbers, including the four female phenoms of Red in full force. Then white would pull to red, and that all changed forever...
The white team decided to take advantage of their highschool star cross country runners, known for their absurd stamina, by running them in the cup...a decision which would determine the fate of the game to come. After 3 points, white had broken once, giving them the lead at 2-1 and the momentum.
White pulled to red in what would be the most longest point ever in ultimate ever...ever. White's zone was a tricky beast...allowing Red to work it 50-60 yards at a time, then seducing them into making mistakes and turning it over. White would then proceed to work it quickly and give the disc back, either on a huck or other aggressive pass, allowing red the chance to work it again, before turning it back over...lack a cat toying with an injured gerbil, toying...playing...tormenting, not quite allowing to die...to Red's credit, they displayed true creativity, never turning it over the same way twice...they always found new ways to give white the disc.
